Objective
The project aims to develop a smart conductive leather with embedded electronics for physiological signal acquisition, designed for application in steering wheels and other interior vehicle surfaces. This solution will enable the non-intrusive monitoring of occupants' identity, health, and well-being, contributing to a safer, more personalised, and connected driving experience.
By combining advanced materials engineering, signal acquisition and processing electronics, and machine learning algorithms, the project seeks to transform conventional leather into a next-generation functional material, enabling the development of innovative products and new business models for the automotive industry.
