The CTIC attended the presentation session for the new edition of the NP EN ISO 9001:2026 standard, held on October 28 at the Portuguese Institute for Quality (IPQ). The event was organized by the IPQ, in partnership with the Portuguese Association for Quality (APQ) and the Portuguese Accreditation Institute (IPAC), bringing together professionals and organizations involved in the field of quality management.
The main objective of the session was to present the changes introduced in the new version of the reference standard for quality management systems, as well as to clarify the transition period applicable to certifications currently in effect.
The update to ISO 9001 comes in response to evolving management practices, the challenges associated with digital transformation, and the growing demands of the business environment, reinforcing the importance of quality as a strategic factor for the competitiveness and sustainability of organizations.
As a member of Technical Committee 80, Quality Management and Quality Assurance, CTIC actively participated in the development of the Portuguese translation of the standard, contributing to its adaptation to the national context and reaffirming its commitment to promoting quality and continuous improvement.
