On 11 June, as part of the Alcanena Municipality Day celebrations at the National Agriculture Fair (FNA), CTIC took part not only through its institutional stand, which was present throughout the event, but also at the Municipality of Alcanena's stand.
CTIC was represented by its General Director, Ana Luís, and technicians Raquel Mourão and Joaquim Gaião, who had the opportunity to present several of the Centre's ongoing research and technological development projects to visitors.
Among the featured topics was CTIC's work on the valorisation of wine industry by-products, particularly residues generated during wine production, exploring their potential application in the leather tanning industry. These projects promote more sustainable solutions aligned with the principles of the circular economy by transforming waste into high-value resources.
The results achieved have enabled the project to progress from the experimental stage to industrial-scale production, demonstrating the strong potential of these solutions for future application within the sector.
CTIC's participation at the Municipality of Alcanena's stand helped showcase this work to a wide audience, reinforcing the Centre's commitment to innovation, sustainability, and the technological development of the Portuguese leather industry.
